Exposure & Response Prevention: “ERP”

If you’ve been diagnosed or are struggling with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Phobias, or Social Anxiety, ERP might be for you. ERP is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy that is specifically created to target certain behaviors and fears with the goal of reducing the frequency and intensity of these problematic symptoms. ERP works through gradual exposures to situations that might trigger a person’s obsession, fear, or anxiety. Response prevention is focused on teaching clients how to resist the urge to give in to their compulsions. ERP can be a lot of work for the client, but the rewards of overcoming certain triggers can be worth it. Our trained therapist will work with you to ensure that ERP is being performed safely and at a pace that is appropriate for you. Learn more about ERP.
